It’s day two of the ‘Road To BlizzCon,‘ a series in which we will give you an in-depth look at the eight teams that will be competing in the Overwatch World Cup Quarterfinals at BlizzCon. Today we’ll take a closer look at the lads making up the 7Lions, Team United Kingdom.

Group Stage

Team UK participated in the final qualifier before BlizzCon at the Paris group stage in late September. They started day one strong with a double-header against Germany and Poland, winning each 3-1, and 4-0, respectively. On day two, the lads continued to set the tone that the UK is a force to be reckoned with, winning with a 4-0 sweep against the Netherlands.

On the final day of the Paris qualifier the 7Lions had another double header, first against Italy, and second against the juggernaut of the stage, France. The lads opened strong with a dominate 4-0 victory against Italy, sealing themselves a spot in the quarterfinals at BlizzCon. The only decider left was who would get the top seed between France and the UK. In the end UK fell short and suffered a 0-4 loss to France in the final match of the group stage. Team UK’s 4-1 record captured them the second seed in quarterfinals, with an overall map score of 15-5.

Meet the #LANimals

Cameron 'Fusions' Bosworth:

Fusions proved his mettle on one world stage this year, playing with the British Hurricane, London Spitfire’s EU Contenders team. He’s known for his main tank play on Orisa, Reinhardt and Winston, helping clear a way to victory for his team.

Eoghan 'Smex' O'Neill:

Flex Tank for NRG Esports, SF Shock’s NA Contenders team, Smex has shown his worth on most of the off-tanks, known for his well placed D.Va bombs and Zarya gravs.

Michael 'MikeyA' Adams:

With one of the widest hero pools out there, MikeyA is a force to be reckoned with on any DPS he selects. He proved his raw mechanical ability on McCree with the British Hurricane, and ruled the skies and backlines with Pharah and Tracer.

Finley 'Kyb' Adisi:

A Genji specialist for the British Hurricane, Kyb’s Dragonblades will help cut down the competition and clear the way to a UK victory. He dominated EU Contenders with his aim and cooldown management on both McCree and Tracer.

Kai 'KSP' Collins:

A recent acquisition of the Samsung MorningStars, this year will mark KSP’s first OWWC appearance. He’s become increasingly well known for his placement and snipes on Widowmaker, helping claim the crucial picks that can turn the tide of the fight in UK’s favor.

Harrison 'Kruise' Pond:

Recently signed to the unnamed Paris expansion team of the Overwatch League, Kruise is a capable main support who’s timely Mercy resurrects and well placed Lucio Boops might lend a hand to a successful run for Team UK.

Isaac 'Boombox' Charles:

Flex support for the Philadelphia Fusion, Boombox was a key player in bringing the team to the Overwatch League Grand Finals. His sick picks on Zenyatta, and ability to flex to tanks like Roadhog will be sure to help find the UK victory.
